Greenfield Borough Council provides housing support and advice for residents who need help with housing issues, including homelessness, repairs, and tenancy support.

Homelessness help

If you are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, we have a legal duty to help you. Contact our Housing Options team as soon as possible:

Housing repairs

If you are a council tenant, report repairs online or by phone. We categorise repairs as:

  • Emergency repairs — Fixed within 24 hours (e.g., burst pipes, gas leaks)
  • Urgent repairs — Fixed within 5 working days (e.g., broken windows, roof leaks)
  • Standard repairs — Fixed within 20 working days (e.g., decorating, minor fixes)

Housing advice

Our housing advice team can help with:

  • Private tenancy rights and responsibilities
  • Deposit protection and disputes
  • Noticing periods and evictions
  • Energy efficiency and fuel poverty
  • Disabled adaptations and housing needs assessments

Social housing

To apply for social housing, you must be on the Greenfield Borough Council housing register. Applications are assessed based on need, local connection, and urgency.
